Where it is

Getting to & around Tanga

From other cities: Tanga Airport (TGT) receives limited scheduled and charter flights; the city is also linked by good tarmac roads and regular buses from Dar es Salaam (about 5-6 hours) and from Moshi and Arusha via the Usambara route.

Getting around: Around town, use bajaji three-wheelers, boda-boda motorbikes, daladala minibuses and taxis; boats and dhows serve the bay, and shared vehicles run up to Lushoto in the Usambaras.
